Run the Same Way
“Run the Same Way” frames a past relationship as a loop the narrator willingly re-enters, even knowing how it ends. Using road and rewind imagery (one-way streets, cracked pavement, “press rewind”), the lyrics turn regret into motion: every “what if” becomes another mile driven back through the same memories. Rather than rewriting the past, the narrator rejects the fantasy of a cleaner timeline. The chorus doubles down on that choice, treating both the highs and the damage as inseparable, while the bridge poses the central question: would erasing the relationship bring safety, or only a different kind of emptiness?
